I will take part in a three day student initiated event on the Educational Turn in exhibitionary institutions
Chelsea College of Art and Design
The starting point for this project is the so-called ‘educational turn’ in the art-world. The ‘educational turn’ can be described as the recent turn from the art educational institution towards the art-world. This project aims to recuperate the renewed exploration between art and pedagogy back into an inquiry towards the educational site, in this case Chelsea College of Art. The research group is based around a dialogue between students, tutors, artists and researchers.
In this project the participating students share ownership of the goals, processes and outcome of the art and research. A group of students will have a collective opportunity to either consider their existing practice in relation to this ‘turning’ or to explore different ways of working in relation to pedagogy as art, individually or as a group. Through, workshops, writing, discussion/dialogue, reading group, collaboration or other ways of making art works.
